Iran warns Israel not to overstep the line, asserts “will never back down” on its rights

The Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani says Tehran will never back down on defending its national interests, warning Israel not to overstep the line.

Speaking to IRNA on Monday, Mohajerani commended the Armed Forces’ recent missile attack on Israel – dubbed Operation True Promise II – which “restored the national pride.”

She added that as the head of the Supreme National Security Council, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian gave his consent to the operation, noting that the defense minister also plays an important role in the council.

Iran launched hundreds of missiles towards the Israeli entity’s military, and espionage and intelligence bases all over the occupied territories on October 1.

Addressing a public sermon at the weekly Friday prayers to a huge number of worshipers in Tehran on October 4, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei hailed “the brilliant work of our armed forces” in launching the missile strike on the Tel Aviv area, saying it was “completely legal and legitimate.”

Pointing to Israel’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, in Tehran, Mohajerani said until two months after his martyrdom, the Iranian government observed restraint because of the prospects of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh was assassinated on July 31 while he was in Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s President Pezeshkian.

The Iranian government spokesperson further emphasised that during the eight years of the Sacred Defense, the Islamic Republic proved that it would never compromise on defending its territory.
