ISWAP terrorists invade Geidam town in Yobe, kill resident, destroy properties

Terrorists of the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) in the early hours of Saturday, invaded Geidam town in Yobe State, attacking the residents and destroying properties, according to multiple sources.

Around 3:30 a.m., the militants entered the town, terrorising locals with sporadic explosions.

Counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported that the terrorists set two vehicles belonging to Nigerian Customs agents on fire and destroyed several properties.

The militants reportedly desecrated the grave of Khalifah Ayiloma in Kolori Ward, setting the gravesite ablaze.

They also broke into the home of Dahiru Muhammadu, a 60-year-old night watchman living near Geidam Polytechnic. Muhammadu, who sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, was taken to Geidam Specialist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
