Kogi ultra-modern hospitals set to boost healthcare delivery – Governor’s aide, Hon. Bolori
Kogi State Ultra-Modern Hospitals, equipped with world-class facilities, are set to boost the health care delivery of the state and Nigeria at large, Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Public Relations, Honourable Ahmed Bolori, has disclosed.
The governor’s aide who made this known while on a courtesy visit to Neptune Prime at its corporate headquarters in Abuja, said the ultra-modern hospitals were designed to meet international standards for better healthcare delivery.
He said the health sector intervention in Kogi started a long time ago but came to the eyes of the public during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The SA said that when other states were busy erecting tents, and leather rooms to accommodate people for the time being, due to the pandemic, Governor Yahaya Bello decided to take permanent measures by investing in the health infrastructure.

Honourable Bolori disclosed that so far the Governor has built Teaching Hospital in Kogi and also Reference Hospital with equipment which experts have said is not likely to be seen easily in some African countries.
He said the Reference Hospital is not only to cater for the people of Kogi but also to take advantage of medical tourism as most Nigerians especially the elites are always travelling to other countries for medical treatments.
The SA also added that all the senatorial districts in Kogi have specialist and general hospitals with at least a minimum of 250 – 300 bed capacity even as many other primary and secondary health institutions have been constructed across the state.
He said unlike other states that would bring ambulances, the life supports mobile clinics in Kogi State, are uniquely designed with many features including CCTV cameras where paramedics can be taking instructions from other health experts from far away on how to take care of patients before they get them to the hospitals.
The mobile clinics also have live support oxygen and other things equipped in it which according to the SA have been deployed across the 21 local governments of Kogi.
Bolori said so far, no state in Nigeria since the return of democracy in 1999 has been able to achieve such a feat in the health sector within such a short time as Kogi State.
Also talking about the inclusion of the People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) or people with special needs in the state, Honourable Bolori said an agency has been created by Governor Bello to carter for their needs, and the essence of the agency was to complement the efforts of the government, to come up with policies that both the private sectors and other segments of the society would have to abide by, to make the PLWDs very comfortable.
He noted that Governor Bello does not joke with people with special needs because his first son was born with a special need and even before his assumption as the governor of Kogi, he and his wife had a foundation which has been catering for the people with special needs.
