Meet North East Youths of the year 2019

The North East has been faced with lots of challenges over the years, but there are those who are not limited by those challenges and dear to stand out in their environment. Here are some personalities from the North East who are Tagged “North East Youths of the year 2019” that have done and acted outstandingly.

  1. Bashir Umar from Adamawa, personnel of  Nigerian Air Force who returned €37,000 he found at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano to its owner on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
  2. Idriss Muhammad from Borno, a young man living with his parents in IPDs camp of Borno after being displaced by Boko Haram from their Village in Northern Borno, but became 1st Position at International Qur’anic  Competition that took place in Saudi Arabia this year.
  3. Usman Umar Dagona, An NCE Holder from Yobe that defeated about 1749 B.Sc holders and others, Became 1st position at Chemistry competition that took place in Abuja. Dagona broke a decade-long record being the first northerner to take the position. Organized by the federal government, the Imaging National Chemistry Competition is a contest that gives room for Chemistry students to share knowledge and solve a science-related problem. It was on record that since the competition began winners usually emerge from southern parts of the country until this year when he broke the jinx.
  4. Mallam Adamu Garba from Taraba, a security guard in Federal University Wukari who never look down at job of a security guard with his NCE, he accepted the job and gained admission (Direct Entry) while doing his guard job, later graduated with 2:1 and eventually appointed as Lecturer in the University. Adamu went from cattle rearing to Security Guard at the Federal University Wukari is now a Lecturer with the Department of Sociology in the same School. Garba was first employed as Security Guard with NCE on 1/9/2012 on CONTISS 5/2, he rose up to CONTISS 8/2 in the same department. He gained admission through DE and graduated earlier this year.
