NAPPS offers scholarships to #EndBadGovernance protest minors, promises ongoing support

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has announced full scholarships for minors recently detained and released for their involvement in the #EndBadGovernance protest.

During a press conference in Lagos, NAPPS Board of Trustees Chairman, Abdulmumuni Kundak, confirmed that the scholarships will cover both primary and secondary education.

He further stated that NAPPS will collaborate with authorities to identify and enroll the affected minors in private schools across the country.

Kundak emphasized NAPPS’ commitment to fostering youth who can contribute positively to society, describing the scholarship initiative as part of the association’s broader humanitarian efforts.

He also noted that NAPPS had previously provided assistance to victims of the Maiduguri flooding and that members of the association routinely offer annual scholarships to deserving students.

Kundak also provided an update on NAPPS’ internal governance, announcing recent approvals from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for new board appointments and preparations for an upcoming international conference.

The National Executive Council elections were held in November, leading to the election of new leaders, including Chief Abayomi Otubela as National President.

Otubela highlighted NAPPS’ ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education in Nigeria, urging government agencies to provide greater support.

He also reassured parents that NAPPS remains attentive to the economic challenges facing families, working to ensure that education remains both affordable and of the highest standard.
