NDLEA gets court order to remand alleged drug baron ‘Temo’ for 14 days
The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) permission to remand alleged drug baron Sulaimon Jimoh, popularly known as ‘Olowo Idi Ogede,’ also referred to as ‘Temo,’ for 14 days.
The court also ordered the interim attachment of a grey Mercedes Benz SUV GLE belonging to the suspect, as it is believed to be a proceed of his illicit drug activities.
Justice Akintayo Aluko issued the orders based on an application filed by Lambert Nor, a deputy commander with the NDLEA. Nor argued that the remand was necessary for further investigation and to prevent the suspect from evading justice.
The NDLEA cited Temo’s extensive involvement in the cannabis trade across West Africa and his history of avoiding arrest.

The court’s decision followed Temo’s arrest in Lagos, where he was apprehended after resisting arrest and attempting to flee.
NDLEA operatives had to mobilize additional personnel to subdue his resistance and recover the vehicle he used to escape.
The case is set for further proceedings on August 9, 2024.
