Nnadozie makes history with 3rd consecutive CAF best goalkeeper win
Super Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie has cemented her status as Africa’s finest shot-stopper after clinching the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time.
The 24-year-old Brighton goalkeeper received the honour at the 2025 CAF Awards in Morocco on Wednesday, adding to her earlier wins in 2023 and 2024. She beat Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini to the prestigious prize.
Nnadozie was instrumental in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), playing every match as the Super Falcons claimed a record 10th continental crown. She conceded only three goals throughout the tournament and emerged as the Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked CAF, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), her teammates, and her coaches at both club and national levels.
Before joining Brighton, Nnadozie also won the Coupe de France Féminine with Paris FC during the award period. Her outstanding year included finishing fourth in the women’s category of the Yachine Trophy at the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
In other categories, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou won the men’s Goalkeeper of the Year prize. The Super Falcons were also crowned Women’s National Team of the Year, beating Ghana and Morocco.

Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak won the award for Africa’s best women’s player, while the country’s U-20 World Cup-winning team was named Best Men’s National Team
