PMB appoints Maina Bukar as Great Green Wall DG

President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) has approved the appointment of Dr Yusuf Maina Bukar as the Director-General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW).

According to a statement signed by the Director (Press) in the Federal Ministry of Environment, Saghir El-Mohammed, the appointment which is for a four-year term, takes effect from April 4, 2022.

The National Agency For The Great Green Wall is an agency under the Federal Ministry of Environment.

Dr Bukar is a PhD holder in “The Impact of the Emerging Climate Change Risks on Sustainable Urban Growth” from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, Master of Science Degree in “Advanced Sustainability of the Built Environment” from the University of Dundee, UK and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.

Bukar has expertise in Climate Change Adaption and Sustainable Development, he is also a member of the Environmental Society.
