PMB extends tenure of Nigerian Immigration boss

President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) has approved the extension of the tenure of the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Mr Isah Jere.

A statement issued by the NIS Spokesman, Mr Tony Akuneme, on Friday in Abuja, indicated that Jere would remain in office until May 29.

The approval was contained in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.

Jere has already resumed duties at the Service Headquarters.

Prior to the extension, the CG NIS tenure had ended on April 24, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
