Police arrest 33-year-old man for defiling 9-month-old baby

The Yobe State Police Command has apprehended a 33-year-old man, Ibrahim Shaibu Goni of Damboa area in Potiskum LGA for allegedly molesting a nine-month-old baby girl.

The suspect was arrested by operatives of the Potiskum Police Division, who acted on credible information from a concerned citizen.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspect allegedly took the child from her mother and committed the heinous act, leaving her with noticeable lacerations.

The PPRO disclosed that both the victim and the suspect had been taken to a medical facility for a thorough medical examination.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, had condemned the act and assured the public of a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.
