Police arrest 43-year-old man for defiling minor

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended 43-year-old Rabiu Usman for allegedly defiling a minor.

In a press statement issued on Friday by the command’s spokesman Chief Superintendent of Police, Suleiman Ngoruje, said that Usman was arrested for defiling an 11-year-old minor in Timdore District, Ganye Local Government Area of the state.

“The arrest follows a referral from the Chief Magistrate Court, Ganye, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.

“That, on 16th February 2025, the victim, while attending a wedding ceremony in Timdore village, went to a nearby house to drink water.

Unfortunately, the suspect forcefully dragged her to the rear side of the compound and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her,” he stated.

He stated that the victim was taken to a medical facility in Ganye for medical examination and treatment.
