Police in Kebbi arrest crossdresser for deceiving men into marriage proposals

A young crossdresser from Gwandune town in Northern Nigeria, who goes by the name Maryam on social media, has been arrested for deceiving men into seeking his hand in marriage.

The story has gone viral on the internet, with reports stating that the suspect was recently apprehended by the police in Kebbi State.

According to Becksblog Nigeria, enamored victims had given thousands of Naira to the suspect in the hope of securing his acceptance of their marriage proposals. However, the situation took a different turn when the victims began to inquire about what was so special about Maryam that had so many men vying for his love.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, admitting to having received a significant amount of money, including foreign currency, from the several men who had wooed him. Maryam has since been detained and will face prosecution.
