Police in Lagos confirm electrocution of 17-year-old boy

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of a 17-year-old boy who was electrocuted while working with his stepfather at a construction site.
The incident occurred on August 2, and was reported to the Agbado Police Division by the boy’s mother.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police, detailed that the boy had been assisting his stepfather, a welder, with scaffolding construction on Church Street, Alagbado. At around 12:30 p.m., the boy stepped on a live wire that was improperly connected to an electric pole and was electrocuted instantly.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Investigations by the police revealed no signs of violence on the body.
The boy’s stepfather has been taken into custody for questioning as the investigation continues.
