Police intercept ₦150m worth of tramadol hidden under cement bags

Story from Shafaatu DAUDA, Kano

In a major drug bust, the Kano State Police Command has intercepted a mini truck loaded with suspected tramadol tablets worth over ₦150 million, cleverly concealed beneath bags of cement.

The sting operation took place in Alharini village, Ungogo Local Government Area, following credible intelligence. Upon inspection, officers uncovered six massive bales of the banned substance stashed beneath the truck’s cargo.

Two suspects, Imrana Rabiu from Bene town in Kebbi State and Muntari Shuaibu from Kofar Gabas in Babura LGA, Jigawa State, were promptly arrested in connection with the illicit cargo.

Police sources say the operation reflects the command’s renewed determination to clamp down on drug trafficking and criminal syndicates operating within the state, in collaboration with sister security agencies.
