Power outage hits parts of Abuja

Story by Zara Ahmed

Three communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been affected by a fresh power outage.

According to a statement by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) on Tuesday, the blackout was caused by a technical fault.

Communities such as Utako, parts of Jabi and Wuye have been thrown into darkness since the incident.

“Dear customers in Utako, parts of Jabi and Wuye. We regret to inform you that the ongoing power outage is due to technical fault,” the statement said in part.

The power utility firm, however, said its dedicated team of technicians were on the ground to resolve the fault.

It, however, did not state when power would be restored to the communities.

“Our dedicated technical team is working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to serve you better,” the statement added.
