Story from Saleh INUWA, KANO

Security operatives stationed around the Galadima axis of Giwa local government area of Kaduna State have arrested Abdul Adamu Kinkiba, the councillor representing the Kinkiba ward.

Kinkiba was said to have been arrested with AK 47, close to a den of bandits terrorising people in the area.

According to a vigilante in the area, Kinkiba said the gun was given to him by somebody whom he could not remember his name.

He said: “I was told that the gun was meant for the convoy of one government official, and I was instructed to park immediately after the bridge near Galadima forest, a known hideout for bandits, that somebody will come and collect the gun”.

The chairman of the Soba local government area, Engineer Sulaiman Yahaya Richifa, confirmed that the accused is a councillor representing the Kinkiba ward. He, however, declined to speak further, adding that he was in serious shock and pleaded to be given time to overcome the shock. Meanwhile, the accused has been taken to Kaduna Police headquarters.
