Senate green-lights Chira as Auditor General for the Federation

The Senate has approved the appointment of Shaakaa Chira from Taraba State as Auditor General for the Federation after he was screened by the Upper Chamber on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

Chira’s appointment was made by President Bola Tinubu on October 20, following the recommendation of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

However, the appointment was opposed on Monday by a group called Worried Nigerian Citizens, raising concerns about his qualifications and experience.
