Senator Abba Aji becomes first Nigerian to get LLP registration with CAC

Senator Muhammad Abba Aji has become the first Nigerian to get his Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The Senator, who expressed his excitement after receiving his certificate of registration from the CAC, said he would make optimum use of the opportunity adding he had been looking forward to it.

Aji said he was proud to achieve the feat at the age of 70 after being called to the Nigerian Bar as a solicitor last year at the age of 69.

He said he would use the LLP to run a law firm in partnership with his daughter, Fatima Abba Aji whom he referred to as his senior at Law, having been called to bar two years before him.

He said the main thrust of the firm which is to be run in Maiduguri and Abuja, is to provide pro-bono for the indigents who cannot afford legal costs and to pay fines in respect of prison inmates who have options of fine and help them regain freedom.

He expressed gratitude to the Registrar-General and the CAC for the honour of being the first to be registered LLP.
