Sultan foundation, UN women lead campaign against gender-based violence in Yobe
The Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development, in collaboration with UN Women, organized a one-day sensitization program in Yobe State focused on preventing and supporting survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The event which took place at Gashua Bade local government yobe state aimed to disseminate key religious messages and community dialogue kits to promote awareness and action against GBV.
Speaking at the workshop Chief Imam of Bade Emirates, Imam Umar Abubakar, emphasized the importance of respecting women’s rights, citing references to women’s rights in the Quran and Hadith.
This initiative by Sultan foundation highlights the role of religious leaders in promoting gender equality and ending violence against women and girls.

The program aligns with the United Nations’ global efforts to address GBV, which affects women and girls worldwide.
