Tinubu appoints Dr Ibrahim Bashir Bello as Rector of Fed Poly Damaturu

President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Bello as the Substantive Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State.

Dr Bello has been appointed for a single tenure of five (5) years.

According to a letter obtained by Neptune Prime, signed by the Polytechnic Registrar, Muazu Aliyu Illiyasu, the appointment takes effect from 4th February, 2025 in line with the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Act, 2019.

Illiyasu said Dr Bello’s appointment was conveyed in a letter endorsed by Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo, mni, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education and charged with responsibility for matters relating to the Polytechnics’ Management and operations.

Dr Bello, until his appointment was a staff of Kaduna Polytechnic since 1996 and held many positions like head of department, Environmental Studies, Director, Academic Planning, among others.

He is a Fellow of Nigerian Environmental Science (FNES) among other professional bodies.

The letter urged the polytechnic community to accord the new rector maximum support for the growth and development of the institution.
