Tinubu cannot win 2023 presidential election – Babangida Aliyu

The former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should have picked and supported a much younger aspirant as the Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) because he cannot win in the forthcoming 2023 election.

Aliyu stated this while discussing the current political situation in the country on Channels TV, while noting that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a very good friend of his but it would have been good for him if he had supported a young candidate like the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi.

Speaking further, he made it known that the outburst of Tinubu in Ogun State where he said it was his turn was unnecessary, adding that Nigeria is not anybody’s personal affair and if it should be anybody’s turn, it should be a candidate from the regions that haven’t produced a President before.

“Yemi Osinbajo would have been a perfect candidate for the APC because he has learnt from his boss, Muhammadu Buhari. Therefore, I will advise him not to waste his time and resources by contesting for Presidency just because he has helped people in the past which there was no written agreement to confirm that it would be his turn one day”, he noted.
