Troops nab female terrorist logistics supplier

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma’s 1 Brigade have arrested 25-year-old Shamsiyya Ahadu, suspected of supplying logistics for terrorist operations in Zamfara State.

The arrest, which took place on Saturday, December 28, followed an intelligence report about Ahadu’s movements. She was intercepted alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, at a checkpoint along the Kware-Badarawa road in Shinkafi Local Government Area.

Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre, disclosed that the suspect was caught with 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to terrorist kingpin Bello Turji’s camp.

“The arrest followed an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorist’s logistics,” Abdullahi stated. “In response, troops promptly established a roadblock, leading to the apprehension of the suspects. Both individuals are currently undergoing investigation by the relevant authorities.”

The military reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and curbing the illegal movement of arms. Authorities called on the public to provide credible information to support these efforts.

“Additionally, the Theatre appreciates the sustained support from locals in fulfilling Operation Fansan Yamma’s mandate,” Abdullahi added.
