Woman arrested for killing sister over ₦800 debt

A trader in Akure, Ondo State, has been arrested for the death of her older sister following a dispute over an ₦800 debt.

The suspect, Bosede Iluyemi, reportedly got into a fight with her sister, Omowumi Tewogboye, over money Omowumi owed for tomatoes and pepper bought on credit.

According to witnesses, the argument escalated and turned violent when Bosede grabbed Omowumi’s clothes.

The struggle caused Omowumi to fall and suffer severe injuries. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, confirmed that Bosede is in police custody.

He stated that an investigation is underway to get the full details of the case and promised that the matter will be handled properly to ensure justice is served.
