20-year-old lady pours hot water on brother’s pregnant wife over disagreement

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly pouring hot water on her pregnant sister-in-law following a heated disagreement.
The suspect, 20-year-old Jamila Ishiaku, admitted to the act, stating in an interview that she acted out of anger after an argument.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Doubeli area of Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, assured that the suspect would face the full wrath of the law.
He urged residents of Adamawa State to refrain from taking laws into their hands, emphasising the importance of reporting crimes to the authorities.
“If you see something, say something, and the police will always do something,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the victim’s sister, Nafisat Dahiru, has called on the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure justice is served.

The victim’s husband, Gambo Dahiru, expressed dismay over the incident, saying his wife remains in severe pain.
“I have been crying for days now. My wife is in pain and has been crying uncontrollably. I am seeking justice for her. The law should take its rightful course,” he pleaded.
Authorities have assured that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will be prosecuted accordingly.
