4 die, 3 injured as gunmen attack Plateau community

Four persons have been killed by suspected gunmen in the restive Bokkos Local Government in the state.

The gunmen were said to have attacked Jean Tangur village in Tangur District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attackers were said to have stormed the quiet village at night and started shooting at residents, killing four women on the spot and leaving many others injured.

The victims were identified as Rachael Ayuba, Cecilia John, Naomi Siman, and Esther Ezra.
Three other people who were hit by bullets are currently receiving treatment at the Cottage Hospital in Bokkos.

Following the attack, a joint team of soldiers, police officers, and local vigilantes were quickly deployed to the area.

According to one Makama, security forces are now working to track down the attackers.
