President of Kulen Cattle Rearers visits Neptune Prime, assures of herders, farmers peaceful coexistence

The National president of the Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN), Honourable Khalil Mohd Bello, has paid a courtesy call on Neptune Prime’s Publisher, Malam Hassan Gimba to applaud the media outfit’s efforts in enlightening and sensitizing Nigerians towards the path of peaceful coexistence.

While appreciating the great contribution of the media in bringing peace and unity amongst herders and farmers, Mohd Bello used the medium to assure that KACRAN under his leadership will not condone criminality in any way, and will always sensitize its members to live in peace with their host community.

He called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to create a separate ministry that will cater for the pressing needs of herders as they have been neglected for long.

“We have observed that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture will not be able to take care of the clamoring demands of the sector, all the budget going to the ministry is been channeled to the farming sector to the detriment of the livestock sector”.

He further applauded the federal government and some state governors (Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Yobe) for approving projects that brings about developments to the livestock sector.

He, however, laments the conversion of cattle routes into farmlands, which he said give rise to the herdsmen and farmers clashes in the country.

Mohd Bello reiterated the agricultural and economic importance of the livestock sector in terms of manure creation and mechanised farming.

In his remarks, Dr Gimba assured him that Neptune Prime will partner the association to ensure lasting peace is restored between cattle rearers and farmers in the country.
