Mama Uganda, 41-year-old woman who had 44 children with same man

Miriam Nabantahzi, 41, is a Ugandan woman who was forced to marry a man in her village at the age of 12.

Soon after, she gave birth to triplets and her second pregnancy resulted in quadruplets. By the time she was 15, she had already given birth to eight children.

Realizing that she needed to control her fertility, Miriam sought family planning advice from doctors. However, despite their recommendation to use contraceptives, she was advised against it due to the large number of eggs in her ovaries.

As a result, Miriam continued to have children for the same man, and eventually gave birth to 44 children in total. She had twins on six separate occasions, triplets five times, and quadruplets five times as well.

Although her family grew to a remarkable size, tragedy struck when the man with whom she had all of her children abandoned her after her last pregnancy, which resulted in quadruplets. Miriam was left to raise all 44 of her children on her own.

In her community, Miriam is now known as “Mama Uganda” as many people do not know her real name.

Despite facing hardship, she managed to raise her children and provide for them as a single mother.

Miriam also revealed that she had suffered two miscarriages, which means that the number of children she could have had is even greater.
