Thugs kill police officer in Adamawa attack
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a police officer.
The suspects, Ezekiel Kefas, 67, and Stephen Zabadi, 44, both from Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde Local Government Area, are accused of beating Ibrahim Maizabuwa, a policeman, to death.
Police spokesperson SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the arrests, stating that the victim’s son reported the incident to the police, leading to the suspects’ apprehension on November 19, 2024.
According to reports, the officer was killed and subsequently buried in the community after visiting his friend, Ezekiel Kefas.
Kefas explained that the altercation began when Maizabuwa allegedly destroyed property in his home, including a pot of soup and water, and assaulted people.
This prompted an outcry from women and children, which attracted a group of thugs who then beat the officer to death. Kefas named Yakubu, Suleiman, and Kilyobas as those involved in the attack. He added that when they went to the homes of the suspects, they found no one there.
