The incident occurred on Tuesday night, January 7, at the popular Ogoja Local Government Central Market in Ishibori, Cross River State.
Details of the fire outbreak are still sketchy.
The incident comes less than 48 hours of a similar fire outbreak in the State High Court.
“Ogoja Local Government Central Market, Ishibori, gutted by fire; less than two days after the State High Court was in flames. As of this moment, there is no presence of the State Fire Service to curtail the inferno,” an X user, who also seems to be a trader in general market wrote.
“This is devastating. We’ve barely recovered from the court fire, and now the market – our lifeline – is burning before our eyes,” he said.
