A Kaduna Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered that a 22-year-old applicant, Samson Kingsley, be given 12 strokes of the cane for stealing ceiling fans worth ₦160,000.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, told the court that the case was reported at Gabaswa Police Station Kaduna by Rabiu Abubakar, of same address with the convict on April 19.

The prosecutor said the stolen items were recovered from the convict during police investigation.

Leo said the offence contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
