FCT doctors suspend indefinite strike
The Association of Resident Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (ARD-FCTA) has suspended its indefinite strike after 30 days of industrial action.
The ARD-FCTA President, Dr. George Ebong, confirmed the development in a message on Monday, noting that the strike—which began on November 1, 2025—was halted following the approval of the doctors’ demands by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Despite the suspension, the doctors issued a warning that they would resume the strike if the FCTA fails to implement the approved resolutions within the next four weeks.

The ARD-FCTA comprises doctors across 14 district and general hospitals, including the Department of Public Health under the FCTA.
Dr. Ebong stated, “ARD-FCTA has suspended its strike for four weeks with the hope that the approvals from Mr. Minister will be implemented.”
