Adamu Maina Waziri, former Minister of Police Affairs, has paid a surprised visit to Hafsatu Gimba Memorial School in Potiskum on Tuesday, where he interacted with pupils, distributed educational materials and food to the pupils, commending the school’s leadership for its commitment to quality education.

He was welcomed to the school with a school rhyme by pupils.

During the visit, Waziri moved from classroom to classroom, engaging directly with students in a cheerful and fatherly manner. He encouraged them to take their studies seriously, stressing the importance of reading as a key to personal and national development.

“You are the future of this country,” he told the pupils. “Read your books, respect your teachers, and always aim for excellence.”

The former minister also distributed biscuits, chocolates and Bobo Yoghurt to the pupils, an act that was met with cheers and gratitude from both learners and staff.

In a touching moment, Alhaji Waziri offered prayers for the children, asking for divine guidance, protection, and success in their educational pursuits.

He expressed deep admiration for the school’s environment and standards, praising Dr Hassan Gimba Ahmed, the school’s proprietor, for his dedication to education and community service. “What Dr Hassan Gimba Ahmed has done here is not just building a school—it’s building a legacy,” Waziri remarked.
