In separate ambushes in Plateau State, two girls were killed in different locations.

The President of a local tribe, Irigwe Development Association, Mr Robert Ashi, said the girls, identified as Miss Charity Danladi and Miss Sibi Danladi- both 16 years-old -were ambushed with a man along Nchenyu village of Kwall District in Bassa LGA.

He said that the third victim of the attack survived with bullet wounds. He believed that this was done by none other than herdsmen because of the recent attacks where nearly ten men lost their lives during one of the deadly operations.

There were no arrests made to prove his claim but a recent ambush that took place in the neighbouring village, Wereng village of Riyom Local Government Area on the same night hinted that the attackers were identified as herdsmen.

In another development, the Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria (ECCVN) says the natives of Byei village, also in Riyom LGA were ambushed near a military base road in the area, and Mr Stephen Joshua was hacked to death while the other victim, Mr Yohanna Dauda, narrowly escaped.
