The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Kaduna State Council has declared a 3-day mourning period in honour of late Chairman, Freedom Radio Chapel and veteran journalist, Mal. Sulaiman Yakubu who died on Wednesday.
In a statement signed by Chairman Kaduna State NUJ, Malam Adamu Yusuf, that was made available to journalists in Kaduna, it described the death of Suleiman Yakubu, popularly called ‘limping general’ as a rude shock, especially when he had started responding to treatment.
He was an outstanding leader and member, whose jovial disposition knew no bounds.
Though he was elderly, he never underrated his junior colleagues and was always supportive and very friendly.
He has since been buried at Rigasa burial ground Kaduna with thousands of his colleagues attending the burial ceremony.
