Gunmen attack ECWA church, kill 1, abduct 3 worshippers in Kogi

Story from Rabi’atu, Lokoja

Gunmen have again challenged the willpower of the Kogi state government and the Security agencies in the state as they attacked a church killing one and whisked away three worshippers.

The unfortunate incident happened Sunday morning at the ECWA Church in Okedayo-Kabba, headquarters of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi state.

The ECWA church attack is coming barely seven days after the Federal medium correctional center Kabba was attacked and the abduction of three poultry farmers on their farm.

The gunmen were said to have attacked the ECWA church while service was still ongoing.

The ECWA church is situated along the Expressway of Kabba – Okene road.

It would be recalled that Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has tagged Kogi state as the safest state in Nigeria.

The attack according to experts may be to test the operational powers of the new commissioner of police CP Idrisu Dabban who was posted to the state a few weeks ago.

When contacted the Public Relations officer of the command DSP William Aya, confirmed the incident.
