As bandits kill 2 more students of Greenfield, parents open Gofundme account to raise N800m ransom

Two more students abducted from Greenfield University in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State were killed by bandits, which has led to distraught families and friends of the abducted students, to open a Gofundme account.

Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state, confirmed this in a statement on Monday.

Aruwan added that two more bodies of the abducted students were recovered by security agencies and have been evacuated to a mortuary, while the university has been notified of the development, only three days after the three bodies of the kidnapped students were discovered in Kwanan Bature village, close to the university.

Gofundme is a crowdfunding platform that allows people to raise money for myriad life events or challenges, and that is why families open an account, to seek financial aid to secure the release of students who have been in captivity for days.

Since the government of Governor Nasir El-Rufai would not negotiate with the kidnappers, parents and guardians of the students have taken their destinies in their hands to reach out to the captors for the release of their children.

One of the relatives of one of the victims posted a link on social media, via which the public could donate.
