Kidnapped Ex-Military Spokesman, Maj.-Gen. Rabe Abubakar, dies in captivity Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information, has reportedly died while in captivity after being abducted by bandits in Katsina State. The tragic development was confirmed on Saturday by the Katsina State Government through the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu. According to the government, the retired military officer died from complications related to diabetes and hypertension while being held by his captors.
