Story from Maimunat MOHAMMED

Mark Sagarga, a 200-level Biological Sciences student at the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State, has lost his life in a horrifying attack by unknown assailants.

The 20-year-old student was said to reside off campus, and was fatally stabbed while returning home on the night of Thursday, June 15, 2023.

The devastating incident was discovered early hours on Friday when Mark’s lifeless body was found in close proximity to his residence in Wukari town, just a short distance from the university’s main gate.

The assailants made away with the victims mobile phone.

Comrade Linus Mary Samuel, the Secretary General of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the university, issued a statement on Friday confirming the incident.

The statement expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the loss, describing the incident as a horrifying act against humanity, unprecedented in the history of the revered institution.

The body of the victim was however taken to the General Hospital Wukari, where a doctor officially declared him dead and transferred to the hospital’s mortuary for further processing.
