Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria’s two goals in the 22nd and 36th minute respectively put Argentina in the lead over France before half time.

Argentina held on to the pressure until in the 80th minute when Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star, Kylian Mbappé found the back of the net net to make it 2-1.

The French continued to pile up pressure against the perhaps exhausted Argentines which paid off seeing Mbappé scoring to level the game just 60 seconds after their first goal.

The game continued at extra time and Messi put Argentina ahead in the 108th minute to make it 3-2. Ten minutes later, Mbappé replied with his third goal to level the game.

Finally, after eight penalty shootouts with four apiece from both teams, It was Argentina that had most of the shots scoring the four while France missed two to make it 4-2.
