Finnish gov’t arrests IPOB agitator, Simon Ekpa

Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed disciple of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has allegedly been arrested by the Finnish Government on Thursday.

According to pictures making round on social media obtained by Neptune Prime, the IPOB agitator was apprehended over his five days sit-at-home declarations on election day.

Ekpa has urged his supporters to ground all activities in the South East starting from February 23 to 28, a development that put fears in many Easterners that the presidential election could be derailed.

A letter purportedly issued by the Finnish Government signed by Prime Minister Sanna Mirella Marin and dated February 15, 2023, was sent to Ekpa giving him 48 hours to withdraw the sit-at-home order imposed on election days in the Southeastern region of Nigeria or risk international sanction.

However, a few hours after the letter went viral, a report from Thecable said a source from the Finnish government said the letter was fake and didn’t originate from the government.

Ekpa, a self-proclaimed disciple of Kanu, has been championing the restoration of the Biafra Republic and calling for the boycott of elections in the South-East region of Nigeria unless Kanu was released.
