Gov Dauda Lawal pledges support for families of slain Zamfara guards

Governor Dauda Lawal has vowed to support the families of the nine Zamfara Community Protection Guards (CPG) members killed in a recent ambush. During a condolence visit to the Tsafe Emir’s palace, Lawal offered condolences to the families and the emirate, honoring the guards’ bravery in protecting their community.
“This is a tragic incident that has deeply affected us all. These guards risked their lives for their people, and we owe them our respect and gratitude,” he said. Lawal noted that a government delegation led by the deputy governor had previously visited to convey condolences and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to end banditry in Zamfara.

Lawal assured that the government would fully support the families, promising financial assistance and food provisions. “We are committed to ensuring the welfare of the slain guards’ families,” he stated, pledging that the tragedy would not hinder efforts against bandits in the region.
The Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Muhammadu Bawa, expressed gratitude to the governor for his rapid response and continuous support for the community’s security.
