Renowned educationist, Nasidi, sensitises teachers at Hafsatu Gimba Memorial School Potiskum (Pictures)

In a heartwarming display of commitment to education, Mr. Yusuf Nasidi, a distinguished educationist, paid a visit to Hafsatu Gimba Memorial School Potiskum in Yobe State on Monday, 16th June 2025, and had an insightful conversation with management of the prestigious institution.
Despite being on a private visit to the state, Mr. Nasidi made time to interact with the school’s teachers and management, leaving a lasting impact on the institution.
Upon arrival, Mr. Nasidi was warmly received by the school’s head teacher, Mr. Ibrahim M. Jaji and taken on a tour of the facilities.
Impressed with the school’s infrastructure and learning approach, the educationist commended the founder, Dr. Hassan Gimba, the CEO and Publisher of Neptune Prime, for his visionary decision to establish the institution. “There’s no legacy like education,” Mr. Nasidi said, highlighting the importance of investing in children’s future.
In his address to the teachers, Mr. Nasidi emphasised their critical positions as role models for the younger generation. He stressed the need for educators to set good examples and provide quality instruction, sharing valuable insights on crafting effective lesson plans and classroom management, and preparing students for standardised tests.
The educationist also promised to collaborate with the school administration to organise a training programme for the teachers soon.
Mr. Nasidi concluded his lecture with a thought-provoking quote: “If a teacher makes a mistake, the yet unborn generation will bear the consequence.” He urged the teachers to strive for excellence, emphasising that good teaching practices have far-reaching impacts.

The teachers appreciated Mr. Nasidi’s visit, describing his insights as invaluable and expressing their eagerness to participate in the proposed training programme. The head teacher and his staff extended their gratitude to the guest, welcoming future visits and collaborations. “Our doors are always open for suggestions and constructive criticisms,” Mr. Ibrahim said, acknowledging the importance of partnerships in enhancing the school’s quality of education.
The visit has left a lasting impact on the school community, and the teachers are looking forward to implementing the ideas shared by Mr. Nasidi.
