Shettima heads to Kebbi on Tinubu’s orders to support families of abducted schoolgirls

Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Kebbi State on the directive of President Bola Tinubu to meet with the state government and families of the schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.

 

During the visit, the Vice President is expected to hold meetings with Governor Nasiru Idris, traditional leaders, security agencies, and parents of the kidnapped students. President Tinubu specifically mandated him to reassure the people of Kebbi that the Federal Government is committed to ensuring the swift and safe rescue of the abducted girls.

Shettima will also deliver the President’s condolences over recent security incidents in the state and reiterate the administration’s resolve to strengthen security around schools nationwide.

He is accompanied by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda; Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro; Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim; and NEMA Director-General, Hajiya Zubaida Umar.
