Tumsah sets up advisory committee amidst rising calls to join Yobe gubernatorial race
Kashim Musa Tumsah, MFR, has constituted a committee to examine the growing calls from support groups, civil society bodies, and well-placed individuals urging him to contest for the governorship of Yobe State in 2027.
Tumsah, who said he is yet to make up his mind as it is not yet time for politics, advised the committee to do everything with the interest of Yobe State and Nigeria in mind.
The committee, under the chairmanship of Honourable Hassan Kafayos, a former local government chairman and governorship aspirant, was given three months to analyse the merits of the mounting calls and give its opinion and advice on the best way forward.

Neptune Prime gathered that the terms of reference of the committee include looking at the merits and demerits of the calls, liaising/interfacing with those making the calls to hear from them their reasons for the proclamation and how they intend to translate the calls into suitable action before making the appropriate decision and compiling a report.

Notably, the committee’s members include some serving political appointees, former labour leaders, and politicians.

Tumsah has been receiving widespread commendations and gratitudes for his humanitarian efforts across Yobe State and beyond.
