PDP Governorship Primaries: 2 Gombe delegates barred from voting

Two delegates from the Gombe local government area of Gombe state were on Wednesday barred from voting in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries.

The two delegates were barred for showing up at the venue of the primary election late.

Neptune Prime reports that delegates from all the 11 local governments of the state were accredited by the election officials in the morning before the commencement of the election.

However, two people came behind the time scheduled and when Gombe local government delegates were called to vote, the electoral committee barred them from the exercise.

Neptune Prime can report that Gombe local government has 23 delegates out of which only 20 cast votes.

The election started at about 2 pm and delegates were called serially according to their local government areas.

Contestants for the governorship seat under the PDP were Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, Mohammed Jibrin Barde and Dr Ali Gombe, all from Gombe local government.

Others were Ya’u Gimba Kumo from Akko local government, Air Vice Marshall Shehu Adamu Fura from Gombe local government as well as Dr Babayo Ardo from Akko local government area.
