Immigration to construct new office in Yobe to improve border protection

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has revealed plans to construct a more befitting office for the Yobe State Command in Damaturu, the state capital.

Assistant Comptroller General of the Service, Ismail Abba Aliyu, disclosed this on Thursday while addressing personnel at the opening of the zonal meeting for Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, and Yobe states.

He said putting up the office complex there is part of the Service’s efforts at ensuring maximum protection of the nation’s boundaries and productivity.

According to him “I assure you that Yobe State Command, Damaturu very soon the service will start constructing a new Command office with a Staff Quarter for the Comptroller, I learned you have a land, I will include it in my report after the meeting to communicate to the Comptroller General, Isah Jere Idris”.

He saluted the personnel of the Yobe Command for their discipline, dedication, and hard work and urged them to discharge their duties with great discipline and fairness.

“I would like you to sustain discipline, it is very important for uniform men.

“Secondly, you will believe me that the service has changed, you have to participate in promotion exams to get promoted, therefore you are expected to exhibit a high level of discipline, therefore Assistant Immigration be prepared, you’ll soon be invited for training in Kano.

“Whenever you are trained you will give a good account of yourself, from the report we’re getting, you’re trying to be respectful to the authority.

“We also appreciate the level of warm reception accorded to us by the Comptroller in Yobe Command, he’s offering a disciplined and purposeful leadership,” Aliyu said.
