Again, fire guts Jos terminus market, goods worth millions destroyed

A fire outbreak on Tuesday night gutted sections of the popular Jos Terminus Market in Plateau State, destroying goods and properties worth millions of naira.

Details of the fire outbreak are still sketchy. The incident comes few months after the Katako market in Jos with a similar fire outbreak.

An eyewitness account indicated that the inferno started some minutes after 11pm on Tuesday night, ravaging several shops with many goods and properties.

The actual cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained by the authorities at the moment.

“Fire outbreak in Jos, the Plateau State capital, has destroyed some parts of the popular Jos commercial Terminus market.

Goods and properties worth millions of naira were burnt in the fire, which has since been brought under control, as of the time of filing this report,” eyewitness stated.

The traders are calling on to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, NEMA, SEMA, for assistance to help them recover from their loss.
