Former PTDF boss Ahmed Galadima wins Adamawa APC governorship primary

Former Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Ahmed Galadima Aminu, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Galadima secured victory at the party’s governorship primary election conducted in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, defeating other aspirants in the contest.

The results were announced by the chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Innocent Bariko, who declared Galadima winner after polling the highest number of votes cast during the exercise.

According to the committee, Galadima scored 414,444 votes to defeat his closest rivals. Member of the House of Representatives, Abdulrazak Namdas, polled 86,004 votes, while Abdulrahman Haske secured 65,424 votes.

His emergence followed a series of endorsements and withdrawals by some aspirants who stepped down from the race ahead of the primary election.

Before contesting for the governorship ticket, Galadima served as Executive Secretary of the PTDF, a federal agency responsible for human capacity development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

Party supporters and stakeholders celebrated his victory shortly after the announcement of the results, describing his emergence as a major step toward strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State.

With the outcome of the primary election, Galadima is now expected to lead the APC into the governorship contest as political activities continue to gather momentum across the state.
