Bandits open fire, kill 8, injure 4 in Kaduna

Bandits in a separate attack in Chikun, Kajuru and Giwa local government area of Kaduna State have killed eight people and injured four.

Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Aruwan stated that bandits shot at a vehicle in Kan Hawa Zankoro, in the Chikun local government area, making it somersault, in the process killing six persons and injuring four.

The victims in the crash include Ibrahim Abdu, Ramatu Sani, Aisha Bello Aminu Ibrahim, Uwaliya Alhaji Shehu, and Muhammad Shehu. The injured include, Zainab Alhaji Usman, Surayya Bello, Khalifa Sani and Ushe Sani.

Meanwhile, in Kajuru local government area, bandits attacked locals at Iburu, killed one Amos Yari, as well as a businessman in Hayin Kanwa village, Fatika district, Giwa local government for resisting kidnap.

The Commissioner added that Governor Nasiru El-Rufai received and prayed for the peace of the souls killed while sending condolences to their families, and wished the injured a quick recovery.
