Easy and useful fasting tips for a healthier you

● During sahur, don’t drink tea and coffee because these two drinks make your metabolism run fast so your thirst will not be hydrated quickly.

● It is recommended to take food that is slow to digest and high in fiber. For example wheat, nuts, seeds, brown rice.

●Apart from being sunnah, it is recommended to take dates when breaking fast as they contain sugar, fiber, carbohydrates, potassium, and magnesium. The body’s nutrients lost during fasting can slowly be filled by eating dates.

Watch the best meal for Suhur:

● Eating  bananas when breaking fast is very good for our body because bananas are a source of potassium, magnesium, and carbohydrates.

● Reduce fried food when breaking fast, because fat cells will increase in the body. Senior citizens are more likely to suffer from diseases caused by fat, such as heart disease, blocked blood vessels, and high blood pressure.

● Take less food that is more quickly suppressed, such as sugar because one feels thirsty quickly during fasting.

● Drink lots of water or fruit juice between breaking fast and before going to bed. (Room Temperature). The goal is so that the body will contain more fluids and can carry out activities the next day smoothly and energetically.

● Don’t drink cold & splashy water because it fills you up quickly, and you may not have space for nutritious food.
